Elevate: How to style op shop fashion gems

Are you a fashion lover who’s passionate about finding unique pieces to add to your wardrobe while also helping the environment? If so, you’ll love this! I am talking about Op shopping!

How do you call it? Op shopping or Thrifting? In Australia, we call it Op shopping.

Fun fact: The term “opportunity shop”, or op shop, was invented in Australia by Lady Millie Tallis to give the shops a more dignified name.

Recently, during one of my op shopping adventures at salvos, I stumbled upon this gem, hidden on the sales rack that left me absolutely elated. I looked at it and knew it was coming home with me. Well, I believe it was just waiting for me. It was an instant attraction. The colour and buttons excited me, but what really did it for me was the price….. drum roll……. $5. Yes, it was only $5..

I was excited, but wasn’t quite sure how I wanted to style it at first, but it all came together wonderfully in the end.

Now, let’s talk about how I styled this incredible find.

Pairing vintage pieces with both affordable and luxury items in your wardrobe can create a unique and captivating look.

The vintage jacket became the focal point of my outfit, and I decided to style it with pieces already in my closet. This fun cute skirt, and my Louboutin so kate pumps completes the jacket beautifully. Then I added accessories (necklace, sunglasses and a clutch) to give the outfit a flair. The contrast between the vintage jacket and the modern elements created a look that was both timeless and trendy. Most importantly, I made the jacket work with my personal style.
